When selecting an outdoor LED display, we need to consider a relatively large number of factors, the most important of which is to use local climate conditions as the primary condition. For example, the maximum and minimum temperature requirements outdoors—if these requirements are not met, the outdoor LED display may fail to operate properly.

Hard requirements for outdoor LED displays:

1. Waterproofing​
In areas with high precipitation, LED displays usually need a higher waterproof rating to withstand the scouring of rainwater.

2. Lightning protection​
During seasons with frequent thunderstorms, electronic products are the most vulnerable to impact and attack; therefore, outdoor LED displays must have excellent lightning protection measures.

3. Dustproofing​
An LED display is a precision device, and when dust enters its interior, it can affect normal operation, such as causing black screens or some light beads failing to illuminate.

4. Harsh environment resistance​
It should be able to maintain normal operation in both extremely low and high temperatures.

5. Simple maintenance​
Outdoor LED displays are typically built in a modular structure and support front and rear dual-side maintenance, making it more convenient to perform maintenance and upkeep on the LED display at any time.

In addition to the above hard requirements, we also need to select the pixel pitch according to different viewing distances outdoors. We recommend the following viewing distances:

• Within 10 meters: control the pixel pitch at P2.0–P4
• 10–25 meters: control the pixel pitch at P5–P7
• Viewing distance over 30 meters or more: recommend a pixel pitch of P8 or higher.
