As LED display technology hurtles ahead, Mini LED and Micro LED are two key innovations that usher the industry into finer image, enhanced contrast, and more controlled pixel precision. Mini LED are LED chips approximately 100μm in diameter — smaller than the traditional small-pitch LEDs but larger than Micro LEDs. Some of them define it on the chip size basis — below 100μm or even 50μm — and others on the chip area basis (below 2500μm²), pixel pitch basis (below 0.5mm), or if the chip contains a substrate or not. Whatever one chooses to define it as, Micro LED is a quantum leap in ultra-fine pixel technology that enables displays with breathtaking brightness, contrast, and viewing angles.

COB (Chip on Board) packaging is one of the key technologies behind Micro LED. The process places tiny LED chips right onto a substrate, moving pixels close to less than 1mm. With cutting-edge transfer technology, this creates gapless, scalable displays without visual gaps or structure lines typical of conventional layouts.
