How to Distinguish Between LCD and LED Displays
To most people, whether it's an LCD or an LED display, it's just a screen. However, these two types of screens are fundamentally quite different. The following key points can help you quickly understand what an LCD screen is and what an LED screen is.
In simple terms:
An LED display is composed of red, green, and blue LED light beads. Each light bead emits light independently to form the image. In contrast, an LCD screen does not have any light beads. It relies on a light source to illuminate the liquid crystal panel in order to display the image.
Therefore, in terms of the smoothness of the screen surface, an LCD display looks more like a flat, smooth piece of glass, while an LED display, when touched, allows you to clearly feel the presence of the individual light beads.

Another quick way to tell them apart:
If a screen looks very thin or is relatively small, it is most likely an LCD screen. On the other hand, the large screens you see at places like concerts or shopping malls are usually LED displays.
Why not always choose LCD displays, since they are smoother and offer more delicate image quality?
The reason is that screen size requirements vary. For smaller screens, LCDs can be a suitable solution. But for larger screens, such as those used on stages or in large indoor and outdoor settings, LED screens are a better choice. This approach not only helps save costs, but also allows for achieving much larger display sizes.
